What we collect when you contact us, where it goes, and how to get it deleted — in plain English, with no fine print.

Last updated August 26, 2026

The short version

You give us your name and a way to reach you. We use it to call you back about your crawl space, basement, or foundation — and for nothing else. We don't sell it. Ask us to delete it and we will.

  • We collect what you type into our forms, plus a note of how you found us.
  • It goes into our customer system so someone can call, text, or email you back.
  • Website analytics and ad tracking are currently switched off entirely.
  • Ask us to delete your details and we will — one phone call or email.

What our forms collect

There are three places on this website where you can send us your details, and each one asks for a little less than you might expect:

  • The form on the home page — your name, phone number, and city or town.
  • The contact page form — first and last name, phone number, city or town, email address, and whatever you tell us is going on at your home.
  • The "free quote" pop-up — which problem worries you most, how soon you want it handled, then your name, phone number, and city or town.

We need either a phone number or an email address — without one of those, there is no way for us to answer you, and the form won't go through. Everything else is optional.

What rides along automatically

When you submit a form, a handful of technical details are attached to it so we can tell where the enquiry came from:

  • The page you were on when you sent the form, and the page you first landed on.
  • The website that sent you here, such as a search engine or a link on another site.
  • Any campaign tags in the link you clicked, and the click identifiers Google and Meta add to their ad links.
  • The date and time you submitted.
  • Your internet (IP) address, recorded by our server as the form arrives.

None of that identifies you personally on its own. It exists so we know whether a call came from a Google search, an ad, or a neighbour's recommendation. Your browser holds that note for the length of your visit and drops it when you close the tab.

What happens after you hit submit

Your submission goes to our customer system, GoHighLevel (a CRM), where it becomes a contact record for our office. Depending on how our office has things set up, a copy is also emailed and texted to the owner so nothing gets missed.

Then a real person from Trench Guys reaches out — usually a phone call, sometimes a text or an email, to the number and address you gave us. If you'd rather only be emailed, or only called, just tell us and we'll note it on your record.

Alongside that call, our system may send you automated follow-up texts and emails about your enquiry — a first message soon after you submit, then occasional follow-ups if we have not managed to reach you. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or just tell whoever calls and we will take you off. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Analytics and ad tracking are switched off right now

This is the part most privacy policies fudge, so plainly: the site is built to support Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) pixel, CallRail phone tracking, Google Search Console verification, and a chat widget — but every one of those is switched off. The settings that would turn them on are blank, so none of those scripts load, and none of them set cookies or send anything anywhere. Today, this website does not track you.

If Trench Guys turns them on later, here is what each one would start collecting — and this page will be updated to say so:

  • Google Analytics — page views, rough location and device from your internet address, and events for tapping our phone number, clicking a call-to-action, submitting a form, and how far down a page you scrolled.
  • Meta pixel — a page-view and a "lead" event when a form is sent, tied to Meta's own advertising identifier for you.
  • CallRail — swaps the phone number shown on the page for a tracking number, so a call can be matched to the ad or page that produced it; that service would log the number you're calling from and the time of the call.
  • A chat widget — whatever you type into the chat window.

CallRail is not switched on today. If it is enabled later and call recording is turned on with it, we will say so on this page and you will hear a notice at the start of the call.

Spam filtering

Our forms carry a hidden field that people never see but automated bots tend to fill in, and we also check how quickly the form was sent and how many submissions arrive from one internet address in a minute — anything that looks automated is quietly discarded and never becomes a contact record.

Cookies, fonts and the map

This website sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser's session storage for the short attribution note described above, which clears itself when you close the tab.

Two things on our pages are loaded from Google: the typefaces the site is set in, and the map embedded on our contact page. Loading those tells Google your internet address, the same as visiting any page with a Google map on it. Our site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps ordinary server logs of requests.

Who else can see your information

  • GoHighLevel — the customer system that holds your enquiry.
  • Vercel — hosts this website and passes your form through.
  • Resend and Twilio — where set up, these deliver the backup email and text to our owner so a lead can't be lost.
  • Google — for the fonts this site is set in and the map on our contact page.

That's the whole list. We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to anyone else for their marketing.

Seeing, correcting, or deleting your information

Call or text 478-236-6403, or email Wedigmiddlega@gmail.com, and tell us what you want: a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. "Please delete my information" is enough — you don't need to explain why, and asking costs you nothing. We'll remove your contact record from our CRM.

One honest limit: if we have actually done work at your home, the paperwork attached to that job — your contract, invoice, and warranty — has to be kept, because your warranty depends on it. Deleting an enquiry is straightforward; deleting a completed job's records is not.

TODO (Trench Guys): decide how long enquiries that never became jobs are kept before they're cleared out, and how many days a deletion request takes to action. Put both numbers here.

A free inspection doesn't obligate you

Asking for an inspection or a quote is free and puts you under no obligation whatsoever. You don't have to hire us, you don't have to decide on the spot, and you can tell us to stop contacting you at any point — that's the end of it.

Children

This site is meant for homeowners. It isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

If this page changes

We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If we ever switch on the tracking described above, that's the section that will change first.
