Crawl Space French Drain for Bonaire homeowners
Bonaire crawl spaces take water from below. Sandy Run Creek sets the water table for the area and in a wet season that table rises close enough to the surface that water appears through the crawl space floor with no runoff involved.
A drain designed for surface runoff does nothing about that. Here the pipe has to be set below the crawl space floor so it intercepts the rising water first, and the stone bed around it has to be generous enough to take real volume.
The drain then feeds a basin, and the pump does the lifting, because there is no lower ground on a Bonaire lot to send water to. We run the drainage lines beneath the vapor barrier so anything arriving is collected underneath and never reaches the surface of the space. Battery backup on the pump is standard here.
The scope is fixed before we start on a Bonaire home, so nothing gets added once the crew is underneath.
